Meet our Micromentors

Sanika Phawde

Sanika Phawde

Sanika is an illustrator, educator, cartoonist and reportage artist born and raised in India and based in Boston. Through autobiographical comics, visual essays, drawings on location, gouache paintings and illustrated interviews her work strives to capture and communicate instances of emotional connection, queer immigrant culture, and the ridiculousness of low-level family tension.

Sara Gomez Woolley

Sara Gómez Woolley

Sara is an award-winning Latina illustrator, graphic novelist, and educator based in Brooklyn. Her work has been published by National Geographic, DC Comics, and Random House. She teaches at CUNY and serves on the Board of Directors of the New York Society of Illustrators. Her upcoming graphic memoir, Esperancita’s Mostly True Memoir, is set to be published by Lee & Low Books in 2026.

Both writers and readers are welcome to a small discussion group with dave ring of Neon Hemlock Press. dave is happy to chat about most things in this session: bring questions about the SFF writing industry in general, small press publishing, curating anthologies, or the overlap between games and writing.
