Community Tables

Community tables provide a space at Flame Con for non-profits, charities, outreach groups, education groups, and public health groups to reach our audience and hopefully provide a welcome community service to our attendees. Below is a list of the organizations participating in Flame Con this year.

Since the days of Stonewall, we have been transforming lives in LGBTQ communities through excellent comprehensive care, provided free of judgment and regardless of ability to pay. In addition, we are continuously pioneering research, advocacy and education to drive positive change around the world, because we believe healthcare is a human right.

Center for Suicide Awareness

The Center offers support and care for all ages of those who have been impacted by suicide. In 2014, we created the HOPELINE™- an emotional support text line. We offer educational presentations for schools in helping students utilize healthy coping skills and know warning signs of suicide. We also offer training for educators, military, healthcare professionals, first responders, and all others. Our team are certified FBI Master Resilience Trainers. We provide a safe and healthy space to be your authentic self.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to preventing suicide through proactive education, training, emotional support, collaboration, and intervention.

Our vision is compassion, readily accessible, barrier free, and sustained support for any individual or entity in need while free of any mental health stigma.

Fandom Forward uses beloved stories and pop culture to mobilize fan communities around social justice movements. We’ve helped thousands of fans fight for queer rights, immigrant justice, corporate accountability, and donated over 400,000 books around the world. In short, we turn fans into heroes.

HELIOsphere

HELIOsphere

HELIOsphere is a NYC area based fan-run science fiction and fantasy convention. We have several queer board members and endeavor to feature queer identified authors. Our 2024 convention will be at the Holiday Inn Piscataway and our Guests of Honor so far are: C. S. E. Cooney, Carlos Hernandez and Neil Clark. We run an active game room and have Play to Win games from Double Exposure (Dexcon). Cosplay encouraged.
