Description:
This panel takes a deep dive into the queer underbelly of slasher films from a variety of perspectives and POVs, as we reflect on what the movies contain and what they mean to us as queer viewers. We’ll explore everything from Psycho’s Anthony Perkins to “the first husbands of horror” Billy and Stu in Scream (from gay creator Kevin Williamson) to Jane Schoenbrun’s psychosexual slasher riff Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma. This deceptively mainstream subgenre can be wonderfully, transgressively queer.
