New York, New York – July 18, 2025 – Flame Con, the world’s largest LGBTQ+ convention, created and produced by non-profit, Geeks OUT, has announced expanded youth programming at this year’s convention in Times Square on August 16-17, 2025. Flame Con’s Youth Day is also returning on Sunday, August 17, with free admission for all youth 21 years of age and under.
With support from Materials for the Arts, Flame Con will feature even more resources for youth programming, including supplies for crafting sessions and cosplay creations. Materials for the Arts is New York City’s creative reuse center, providing free supplies to public schools, City agencies, and arts nonprofits. A program of the Department of Cultural Affairs, it inspires students, teachers, and artists to build a more creative, sustainable future.
After a soft launch in 2024, Flame Con is excited to announce the official debut of Campfire, an all ages sensory-friendly, after-hang on August 16, open to guests with a Saturday or Weekend ticket. Designed as a relaxing space to unwind and connect, guests will enjoy an evening of crafting, reading, gaming, and community connection with fellow geeks.
“Flame Con prides itself on being a convention for everyone,” said Nic Gitau, Geeks OUT President. “But, at a time when queer and trans youth are being targeted, we want them to know that their community is here for them — now more than ever. We’re excited to expand programming for youth at the show this year, and we hope connections made at Flame Con will stay with our guests long after the show is over.”
Also returning this year is Fireball, the official Flame Con after party, on Saturday, August 16 at Industry Bar. Join us for an evening of wild, geeky, and sexy fun at this 21+ event. Expect geek-themed drag, burlesque, boylesque, dancing, and more!
Flame Con is open to all ages with full Weekend or Single Day tickets for Flame Con and Fireball are available via TicketLeap. For information on Flame Con, please visit www.flamecon.org, and for details about Geeks OUT, please visit www.geeksout.org
