Buffering the Vampire Slayer
Jenny Owen Youngs is a singer, songwriter, and Whedonverse enthusiast who grew up in the forests of northern New Jersey and is now based in Los Angeles. She has released three albums, a handful of EPs, and a museum-based serial song project called EXHIBIT, and has toured extensively in the US and Europe, headlining and also supporting artists such as Regina Spektor, Against Me!, Frank Turner, and Motion City Soundtrack. Today, Youngs spends much of her time writing with and for other artists in Los Angeles, co-hosting Buffering The Vampire Slayer, and working on her next record.
Kristin Russo is a former goth teen and current co-host of Buffering the Vampire Slayer. A writer, speaker, educator and consultant based in Los Angeles, CA, she is the CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Everyone Is Gay & My Kid Is Gay, and authored This is a Book for Parents of Gay Kids (Chronicle, 2014). She served as host and producer of First Person, a video series on gender and sexuality from PBS Digital and WNET, worked with local businesses on her ongoing OUR Restroom initiative to take gender markers off of single stall restrooms, and she holds a Master’s in Gender Studies from the CUNY Graduate Center.
